Indians migrate to Bahrain in search of greener pastures as well as to support their families back home. However, they are now embracing the kingdom through tourism. Despite slowing trends in Europe and West Asia, more Indian immigration can benefit Bahrain's tourism sector by bringing thousands of high-net-worth individuals and potential tourists.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) has also put India on its priority list by maintaining an office in the country to collaborate with travel agents and tourism players. The excellent links between Bahrain and India will also contribute to this tourism resurgence drive.

"More Indian weddings are taking place nowadays, and Bahrain has become a popular tourist destination for Indians, allowing us to supply visas and tickets and develop our business," Haris PT, Managing Director of Travel Knits, told The Daily Tribune.

Bahrain's tourism sector should collaborate with GCC states to enhance the country as a tourist destination, he opined.

"A single-visit visa for Gulf countries could bring more visitors to Bahrain." This can benefit tourism throughout the GCC, as most tourists visit multiple European countries when they can travel with a single Schengen visa. Saudi Arabia is currently heavily pushing tourism. "It would be a game changer if tourists could obtain a single visa to travel to multiple GCC countries."

Another representative, Shailen Kumar, stated that business is brisk and that many Indian tourists are visiting Bahrain.

"It also depends on when the holiday begins, especially since many people want to bring their families to Bahrain during Ramadan." "I've seen more people travel to Bahrain than return to India," Kumar explained.

Bahrain has recently been touted as a one-of-a-kind destination by the BTEA.

In the first three months of this year, the Kingdom will host 14 marriages.
