Bahrain King orders dispatch of urgent humanitarian relief aid to Turkey, Syria and Lebanon

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday issued an order to dispatch urgent humanitarian relief aid to Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon, following strong earthquakes that left a number of dead and missing people, as well as significant destruction.
He instructed the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), chaired by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to deliver relief aid to people affected by the tragedy.
In a statement, he reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering solidarity with quake-stricken countries and commitment to contributing to alleviating people’s suffering, within strong relations with Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.
RHF Secretary-General Dr Mustafa Al Sayyed announced that the foundation would coordinate with relevant ministries to harness all efforts and dispatch urgent relief aid.
“The foundation, led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will work to alleviate families’ suffering of their families in the aftermath of this painful calamity,” he said.
HH Shaikh Nasser expressed thanks and gratitude to HM the King, RHF Honorary Chairman, hailing continued royal humanitarian initiatives in support of disaster-stricken and needy people worldwide, in line with Bahrain’s efforts to foster international solidarity.
HH Shaikh Nasser commended the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hail HM the King in its support to the foundation.
