Bahrain is 10th safest in the world, says latest Crime Index

Bahrain has been ranked among the top 10 safest countries in the world by Numbeo’s 2023 Crime Index, which has listed 142 countries around the globe.
The United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar are the other nations from the Gulf Cooperation Council in the top 10 rankings.
Bahrain scored 24 on the crime and 76 on the safety indexes, whereas neighbouring Saudi managed 24.6 on the crime index and 75.4 on the safety index to rank 14th.
Abu Dhabi is the safest city in the world, following Doha in the ranking.
Taipei in China, Ajman in the UAE, and Sharjah in the UAE took the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions, respectively.
The Numbeo index is a crowdsourced living database that accounts for factors such as quality of life, housing, healthcare, transport quality, and perceived crime rates.
Qatar tops the ranking with scores of 14.8 on the crime index and 85.2 on the safety index.
Closely following are the United Arab Emirates (2nd: 15.1, 84.9), Taiwan (3rd: 16.2, 83.8), the Isle of Man (4th: 18.2, 82), Oman (5th: 19.7, 80.3), Hong Kong (6th: 21.5, 78.5), Armenia (7th: 22.1, 76.9), Japan (8th: 23.1, 76.9), Switzerland (9th: 23.6, 76.4), and Bahrain (10th: 24.6, 76).
Least safe: Venezuela remained the least safe country.
Ranked above are Papua New Guinea (crime index of 79.9, safety index of 20.1), Afghanistan (78.6, 21.4), South Africa (75.4, 24.6), and Honduras (74.2, 25.8).
