The Bahraini Farmers’ Market is witnessing a steady rise in foot traffic, said Mohammed Al-Araibi, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Bahraini Farmers Market, terming it as a crucial platform for local products and producers.
“This year’s participation has exceeded all our expectations attracting visitors from Bahrain and abroad,” said AlAraibi, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.
Abdullah Ali, a local visitor to the market, said he looks forward to visiting the market many more times.
“I am eager to buy local vegetables that are fresh and straight from Bahraini farms.”
The market also has several international visitors. Mustafa Al-Musallam, a Saudi Arabian visitor, described the market as a unique experience.
“I come here monthly with my family to buy agricultural products and support the farmers and market their products.
A visitor from Libya, Hussam Wafa, praised the market for its organisation and high-quality products.
The experience here is “beautiful,” Wafa said as she revealed her intention to visit again.
“The agricultural products here are distinguished for their quality.” Bahraini chef, Shaikha Al-Thawadi, said she visits the market to buy vegetables free of “pesticides and chemicals”.
“Besides, the products are offered at excellent prices and have better appearance, quality and taste.”
Bahraini visitor Abbas Ali termed the market as a unique experience. “I always buy tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables from here for their distinctive taste and great nutritional value.”
