As part of the various social welfare initiatives by Annai Tamil Mandram, the team helped two patients who were struggling with serious medical conditions to return safely to their hometown.

Murugan Sadaiyandi, 42, and Subramani Santhaiah, 39, were suffering from stroke and taking treatment at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) for the last six months.

They were battling to return to their native country while being hospitalised. Social workers contacted them and took the initiative to arrange for their return to India. They followed up with various departments.

Through the help of the Tamil Nadu government, the social workers worked in the Kingdom to obtain the required travel documents and receive medical care from the SMC until they were sent back to India.

With all the efforts and support, both patients reached home safely yesterday. Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Mr Senthil GK, President, Annai Tamil Mandram, said, “I am grateful to the Bahrain government authorities, H.E. Piyush Srivastava, Ambassador Embassy of India, and Indian Embassy officials, ICRF, HOPE team, PLC, World NRI Council, Salmaniya hospital authorities, Tamil Nadu government and officials and Air India team.

“We sincerely thank each and every one who helped, supported and guided us through this entire process and ensured the safe travel of both the patients with the needed medical support.”
