Jewellery has long had a special link with romance, and many love stories have a piece of jewellery taking centre stage taking the relationship to the next level.
Customers in Bahrain have broken Valentine's Day spending records this year, following a surge in demand for jewellery in the last two weeks.
Experts said market mood was strong, and Valentine's Day is a significant event for many, especially as people try to recover from the pandemic.
Jewellers were eager to help them celebrate the occasion in a unique and meaningful way.
Bahraini jewellers had a lot to offer, like giving loyal customers gifts when they enter the store after using the code.
Leading jewellers say that lighter-weight gold is in high demand this year, particularly for this occasion, with many young people paying between BD40 and BD100.
"The markets observed an improvement and activity in demand for sales of gold and diamond jewellery, mostly due to Valentine's Day," said Shaji C.K., manager at Devji Aurum jewellers.
We conducted a campaign with the theme 'This Valentine's, Show Yourself Love' from February 4 to February 14.
It was advertised everywhere, including on social media and in stores.
Since the beginning of this month, there has been a lot of demand since customers would always come whenever the price of gold plummeted."
