Rotary announces scholarships for students in peacebuilding

The Rotary Club of Salmaniya, Manama, Adliya, and Seef organised a joint seminar on the Rotary Peace Fellowship yesterday at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Faisal Juma, the Peace Fellowship Country Chair of Bahrain, said: “As February is the peacebuilding and conflict resolution month in the Rotary International calendar, we launched the Fellowship at the beginning of this month for anyone to apply.”
The Fellowship covers tuition and living expenses and offers academic training, field experience, and professional networking opportunities.. Rotary Peace Fellows are selected in a globally competitive process based on personal, academic, and professional achievements every year.
Fellows earn a master’s degree or a post-graduate diploma in peace and development at one of the Rotary Peace Centres at leading universities worldwide.
“Over 1,600 programme alumni are working in over 140 countries as leaders in national governments, nongovernmental organisations, education, research, law enforcement, business and consulting, human rights law, media and the arts, and international organisations such as the United Nations,” Juma said.
