Licence theft man gets jail in Bahrain
A Bahraini man has been detained for seven days for stealing his friend’s driving licence and using it to get a rental car. A complaint was filed against the defendant by a local car rental company after he refused to settle the service fee.
When the detainee’s personal details were reviewed it was found that he had used a stolen driving licence to get the car. The owner of the licence claimed that the licence went missing along with his wallet after the detainee borrowed the car. The 27-year-old, however, denied any involvement in robbing the wallet, while admitted to stealing the licence. Prosecutors charged him with theft, misusing an ID card and refusing to settle a bill.
