Bahrain keen to bolster Sudan ties, cooperation

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has affirmed his pride in the long-standing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Sudan, noting that he is looking forward to bolstering bilateral cooperation to meet the aspirations of the two countries.

HM the King was speaking as he received yesterday a written message from the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan, HE Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan. HM King Hamad was handed over the letter by the Sudanese Foreign Affairs Minister designate, Ali Al Sadeq, whom he received at the Gudaibiya Palace.

The letter focused on solid relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as ways to enhance them in various fields, in addition to the latest regional and global developments of mutual concern.

Al Sadeq conveyed to HM the King greetings and appreciation from the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, as well as wishes for further progress and prosperity to Bahrain. His Majesty requested the minister to convey his greetings to Lieutenant-General Al Burhan, as well as his wishes for abundant health and success to him, and further progress to the brotherly Sudanese people.

HM King Hamad underlined the Kingdom’s support for all the Transitional Sovereignty Council’s efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan and meeting the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, development and prosperity.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister designate expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him. He also commended HM King Hamad’s efforts to develop the distinguished Bahraini-Sudanese relations. Al Burhan also praised the kingdom’s authentic and honourable supportive stances towards Sudan and its people.
