Turkish Ambassador lauds solid public support for quake victims

Turkish Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Esen Cakil, has extended her sincere thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s government and to all who contributed to the victims of the tragic earthquake that devastated the nation on February 6.

As soon as a 7.8 earthquake devastated southern and central Turkey, as well as northern and western Syria, the embassy initiated a donation campaign, in collaboration with the Bahraini government, to gather various necessities for the Turkish people to live after the tragedy.

Throughout the campaign time, Ambassador Cakıl and the embassy staff were on hand to accept donations from the general public.

Winter apparel such as coats, raincoats, boots, sweaters, scarves, equipment, canned meals, infant formula, diapers, and hygiene supplies were among the donations requested by the embassy for the earthquake victims.

Turkish Airlines will transport to Turkey the donations gathered in the Kingdom.

His Majesty’s government has provided urgent humanitarian relief aid to the victims of the earthquake which rocked Turkey and Syria.

It has affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with the Turkish and Syrian people following the devastating earthquake.
