British Council, MoE team up for IELTS training for teachers

More than 60 teachers from 40 public schools and representatives from the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum department recently completed the “IELTS Train the Trainer Programme” organised by the British Council Bahrain and the Ministry of Education.
The programme aimed to equip teachers with the skills necessary to effectively prepare their students for the IELTS exam, which measures English language proficiency for higher education and migration purposes.
This training was part of the British Council’s larger initiative to support the development of English language skills in the country and to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in and beyond the classroom.
British Council’s Director of Examinations and Assessment KSA, Kuwait, and Bahrain, Michael King expressed his confidence in the programme’s positive impact and its importance in providing teachers with the necessary skills to support their students and help them achieve their full potential.
Sahar Al Majthoob, Chief of Languages and Humanities at the Ministry of Education praised the collaboration and highlighted the programme’s benefits for trainees. Meanwhile, Dr Fatima Al Buainain, Director of Learning & Pathways Policy and Development Directorate at the Ministry of Education Bahrain, emphasized the importance of training teachers and specialists with reputable organisations like the British Council.
