Bahrain Labour Minister pledges support to boost Palestine jobs

Bahrain is committed to supporting efforts to enhance Palestinian economic growth, said Labour Ministry yesterday, highlighting the widespread issue of unemployment in the occupied Palestinian territories.
During a high-level meeting organised by the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO) to support the implementation of the Palestinian Employment Strategy, Jameel Humaidan said the Kingdom’s participation in the discussion reflects its support for joint Arab action.
The meeting focused on efforts to support job creation and economic growth in the occupied Palestinian territories, support the rights of Palestinian workers and alleviate their suffering with material and moral support in addition to implementing the resolutions of the 48th Arab Labour Conference in September 2022.
ALO Director-General Fayez Fayez Ali Al Mutairi, International Labour Organisation (ILO) Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo, several Arab labour ministers, Arab and international experts and specialists participated in the meeting, in person or virtually.
Later, Humaidan also held meetings with ALO Director-General, met Arab counterparts and discussed ways to enhance cooperation regarding the labour markets in Arab countries.
