Bahrain to Enhance Medical and Relief efforts in Syria, plans to send doctors

Talks are underway to improve Bahrain's medical and relief efforts in areas of Syria affected by recent earthquakes, said Dr. Mustafa AlSayed, Secretary General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation During a reception for the Bahraini delegation delivering aid shipments to earthquake victims, Dr Al-Sayed discussed the matter with the Syrian Minister of Health, Dr Hassan Al-Ghobash.
As a result, a decision was made to send a group of Bahraini doctors to work alongside the Syrian medical team in treating people injured in the earthquake.
Dr Al-Ghobash praised the humanitarian stances of His Majesty King Hamad Al Khalifa and expressed his appreciation for the timely assistance provided by the leadership and people of Bahrain.
Dr Al-Sayed affirmed Bahrain's commitment to providing ongoing assistance to the Syrian people during these difficult times. He added that Bahrain is currently coordinating with the United Nations to implement humanitarian projects in Syria and is also working with the Syrian Red Crescent to ensure that aid reaches those in need.
The reception was attended by the Minister of Health and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Wahid Mubarak Sayyar, as well as a number of directors and stakeholders from both sides.
