HM King hails Shaikh Nasser's outstanding victory

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday hailed the victory of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in the World Endurance Championship in Abu Dhabi as “outstanding”.
The victory, HM said, will shine bright in the record of Bahrain’s and HH Shaikh Nasser’s achieve - ments.
The 160-kilo - metre race, held under the patronage of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Presidency Court Minister His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had 126 contenders representing 36 countries.
His Majesty said the outstanding performance also reflects the importance enjoyed by the sport in the Kingdom.
HM King said this after witnessing from the stands the victory of HH Shaikh Nasser, HM King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
HH Shaikh Nasser won the Championship organised by the International Endurance Federation by clocking 7 hours, 36 minutes and 39 seconds at Boudheeb Global Village in the United Arab Emirates.
Endurance sport, His Majesty said, is deeply rooted in the history and heritage of the region, stressing keenness to support and develop the sport.
HM King also praised the race organisation as “outstanding”, saying: “It reflects the world standing and reputation of UAE in hosting major sporting events.”
