More women to benefit from state-provided housing
The Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s Secretary-General, Hala Al Ansari, hailed the directives of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the inclusion of the fifth category of housing applicants.
The rights of Bahraini women and their advancement have been boosted at all levels thanks to the unlimited support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and Supreme Council of Women (SCW)'s President, Hala Al Ansari asserted.
She has expressed gratitude and appreciation to Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer and ministry officials for their continual follow up of the accomplishment of "masakin i.e. homes" project through issuance of Ministerial Resolution 909/2015 and the inclusion of the fifth category of non-guardian widows, divorcees, jilted, single and orphaned females. She commended the cooperation on the part of the ministry emanating from the Kingdom's keenness on expanding the umbrella of beneficiaries from state-provided housing from which women have benefited since 2004.
According to regulation, females have the right to apply to get housing services equally as male citizens in accordance with the criteria approved by the ministry for this purpose. Women constitute the backbone of familial stability in view of their basic role and contributions in the community. A total number of 388 applications have been registered with the Women Support Centre so far until September under the fifth category which will be considered by the Ministry of Housing, she concluded.
