‘Cupid’s Rage’ book published

Bahraini poet, Laala Alghata launched her third book, ‘Cupid’s Rage’ at Malja’s space yesterday. Cupid’s Rage is collection of poetry on life and love, written over a time span of three years of 2008 to 2011 between Bahrain and the UK.

Laala’s last book was published in 2008, but she hasn’t ceased writing ever since as she went through hundreds of her poems in her archives to collect a bunch that stuck to her till today.

Speaking to DT News, Alghata said, “The reason I wanted to put Cupid’s Rage together as I am heading with a new style of writing currently. Before publishing them, I wanted to put out the older works. As a writer, I want my works to resonate with people. I hope that everyone find something they relate to, be it love or poetry about anxiety, dealing with death or the plight of migrant workers.”

She is also currently working on her next collection and plans to publish it in the next couple of years.
