Applications for the programs to support employment and pay increases for Bahraini doctors will be accepted starting today, according to the Labour Fund, Tamkeen.
The initiatives include supporting the employment of Bahraini doctors and dentists who are fresh graduates or job-seekers nominated by the Ministry of Labour in private clinics and hospitals with a minimum wage of BD800, through a special track to support doctors within the National Employment Program.
The support will include wage subsidies of 70%, 50%, and 30% respectively, for a period of three years. The second initiative aims to support wage increments for doctors who are currently employed in private sector hospitals, through a tailored track as part of the Train and Grow Program.
The support aims to increase the wages of employees who currently earn less than BD800, where Tamkeen will subsidise the increment by 100% up to the approved cap for 12 months. The third initiative aims to facilitate the employment of Bahraini local talent in private sector health institutions and maintain 25% Bahrainisation rates for doctors and dentists working in these institutions.
Eligible enterprises may apply through Tamkeen’s enterprise support programs and will have the opportunity to increase the grant amount which will be subject to the Bahrainisation rate at the time of the application, hence, providing the relevant incentives for such enterprises.
In addition, the fourth initiative which is currently under development, aims to provide financial support for educational loans in partnership with several local banks, where more details on this support will be announced through Tamkeen’s official channels.
