Support for infrastructure

The government is committed to speeding up the pace of the infrastructure development projects and ensuring sustainability of the necessary funding for them.
This was affirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa as he visited yesterday the Ministry of Works to follow up on the progress of the infrastructure development projects it is being implemented.
He pointed out urban and investment development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the infrastructure development projects in new cities which aim to boost the welfare of Bahraini families and achieve stability for their members.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah was received on arrival at the ministry by the Minister of Works, Eng. Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Works Ministry Undersecretary Eng. Shaikh Mesha’al bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and a number of officials.
He praised the efforts of the ministry personnel and their remarkable contribution to developing the infrastructure to keep it in harmony with the government’s programmes and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The Deputy Prime Minister was briefed about the ministry’s plan for this year and the next years to carry out more than 120 projects to connect thousands of real estate properties to the road and sewerage network in internal areas across the kingdom through a programme funded by the revenues of the Municipal Shared Resources Fund.
The ministry’s current projects, which account for more than 200 ones in the road, sewerage, construction and maintenance fields, were also spotlighted.
Eng. Al Hawaj affirmed the ministry’s keenness on providing the infrastructure services according to the high quality standards in order to achieve the goals of the comprehensive development march led by HM the King and supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for the visit, commending the support accorded to the Bahraini cadres and the projects being implemented by the ministry.
