The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023 is set for a spectacular occasion that will be breaking records for Bahrain and Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
The race has completely sold out as F1 fans are eager to “Follow Your Champion” in the biggest and most anticipated regional event of the year.
“F1 is enjoying a level of popularity around the world that we have never seen before, and that is no different here in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the wider Middle East; with that, comes a responsibility for BIC and the Kingdom of Bahrain to make the F1 experience bigger and better than ever,” said BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa in January when announcing details of this year’s event.
From Friday to Sunday, the focus of the world of motorsport will be on Sakhir for the first of 23 rounds in the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
This weekend’s F1 spectacle is a truly global event, with 90 racers set to hit the track. F1 boasts 20 of the world’s biggest motor racing superstars, while there will be 22 competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, 30 in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, and another 18 in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.
The excitement ahead of F1 weekend has been unbelievable! BIC announced that ticket sales for 2023 have reached record levels across all areas. The circuit said that, in addition to the complete sell-out of all grandstands, Paddock Club, Dome Lounge, and Corporate Lounges, BIC is set to welcome the largest number of international fans in its 19-year history, reflecting the continued appeal of the race across the world.
All those flocking to BIC this week can enjoy loads of family entertainment, including roaming acts and musicians from all across the globe, kids’ attractions including stage shows of classical tales, a giant Ferris Wheel, The Beast inflatable obstacle course, a spooky Haunted House, and an F1 Fanzone with all kinds of F1-related activities including Esports.
There are also back-to-back nights of concerts featuring a pair of Grammy-nominated, A-list artists. DJ Snake will be the first to hit the stage on Friday night, and then Craig David will be performing his TS5 DJ set on Saturday.
There will also be a number of exciting fan-engagement activities all weekend long at BIC. One is an incredible raffle where race-goers will have a chance to win valuable prizes on Race Day Sunday. All those seated along the 10,500-capacity Main Grandstand will be included in a draw and may come away as one of many lucky winners in BIC’s “10 Every 10” raffle.
All they have to do is be in their allotted seats from 4.45pm until the 57-lap night race starts at 6pm. Ten random winners will be announced every 10 minutes during this period, making for plenty of additional excitement amongst those in attendance.
Prizes include high-end mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, headsets, ear buds, gaming consoles, and so much more. Fans are advised to be in their seats on time as winners will be identified by their seat numbers.
They will be announced and located by BIC staff, so they must be in their seat in order to claim their prize. Race-goers should not miss out on this wonderful opportunity so they must make sure that they are in their Main Grandstand seat for the duration of the raffle.
Only those with Main Grandstand tickets can be part of the draw. The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023 opens the new F1 season and it will be the 19th edition of the world’s famous desert F1 race.
As a result of the sell-out, BIC has issued the following important information for the 2023 event:
• Please do not travel to the circuit this weekend unless you have a ticket or a confirmation for your tickets. There will be no tickets available for sale at any sales points.
• Bahrain International Circuit urges fans not to purchase tickets from unauthorised sellers and BIC cannot take responsibility for tickets bought elsewhere. BIC reserves the right to refuse access if you are found in possession of a ticket not purchased via the authorised sellers or a forged ticket.
• For those travelling to the circuit, due to the popularity of the event, fans are advised to arrive as early as possible, to avoid delays on entry. Fans should pay close attention to gate entry times, which are available on BIC’s website Bahraingp.com.
• Fans are asked to ensure that they have their parking pass fixed to their windscreen beforearrival. Passes are issued for every three tickets purchased and can be collected at our stands at Exhibition World Bahrain or City Centre. Additional passes can also be purchased from these venues.
