Bahrain Speaker elected IPU 146th Assembly President

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Governing Council, the administrative and policy-making body, has elected Speaker of Bahrain's Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam as President of the IPU 146th Assembly.
Al Musallam expressed his thanks and appreciation for the confidence of the participants and said that their trust is a parliamentary responsibility for constructive dialogues, deeper cooperation, collective action and the fulfilment of aspirations.
The Speaker added that he was looking forward to the 146th IPU Assembly hosted by Bahrain being a milestone in the IPU collective action.
