Philippine School students win awards

Philippine School (Bahrain) teachers and students participated in the 2023 Bahrain Round of the World Scholar’s Cup on March 3.

Made up of Senior and Junior High School as well as Grade Six students, the school garnered awards and medals from different competitions such as team debate, collaborative writing, scholars’ challenge and scholars’ bowl.

They also participated and showcased their talents during the debate showcase and scholars’ show. Meanwhile, PSB teachers served as debate judges and adjudicators during the team debate. Though the two day-event were open only to scholars, coaches and judges, parents and coaches of the scholars patiently waited outside the venue to give their full support to the students.

Both days of the event took place at the Saar Campus of St Christopher’s School. The idea behind the World Scholar’s Cup was to create something different than traditional academic competitions and conferences; a celebration of the joy of learning, a tournament as rewarding for the team that came in last for the team that came in first; and an enrichment opportunity that motivated students not just to demonstrate their existing strengths but to discover new ones.
