Eco-friendly rubber walkway in Dohat Arad, Muharraq park inaugurated

The rubber walkway in Dohat Arad, Muharraq was officially opened yesterday by Huawei CEO Mr Aziz Tang and Oil and Environment Minister Dr Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Dainah.

Dr Bin Dainah praised Huawei’s interest in supporting the environment and society based on its social responsibility and its contribution to advancing progress in the Kingdom.

The majority of the materials used in the 1500-meter-long rubber walkway in Dohat Arad are ecologically friendly materials that adhere to standards that are safe for the environment and offer every safety measure.

The project comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan developed by the Supreme Council for the Environment to develop public facilities in the park. Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Mr Tang said: “We anticipate that the local people will enjoy this facility. We have the distinction of helping the Kingdom deploy its national broadband network and radio networks, and our roadmaps prioritise being environmentally friendly, green, and sustainable.

“Bahrain has an ambitious vision of 2030 and we would like to contribute more through advanced ICT technologies for the Kingdom, to facilitate the digital transformation in a sustainable and environment-friendly approach.

“We offer career training credentials and pledge to develop 3,500 new talents over the next five years. To date, we have trained more than 1000 students.” He added: “We help battle the pandemic, sponsor sports activities, and develop ICT talent. Because people’s lifestyles haven’t been healthy for the past three years, we’ve started a rubber walkway so that people can walk and exercise and live healthier Dr Bin Dainah with Mr Tang lives.”
