Shanghai Cooperation key to tackling regional, global issues, says Bahrain

Bahraini has affirmed the importance of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in tackling regional and global challenges. Chaired by India in New Delhi, Bahrain was a “dialogue partner” at the summit.

In his address, Bahraini Ambassador to India, Abdulrahman Al Quoud, stressed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving the organization’s goals and praised India's role as its president.

He conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister while expressing gratitude to the Indian government for hosting the conference.

The two-day summit, which concluded yesterday, focused on boosting cooperation between the SCO member states, addressed main regional and international issues, and coordinate efforts to handle them.

The Bahraini ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, thanking the Indian government for hosting the conference. The Bahraini ambassador also expressed appreciation to the organization for conferring the status of "dialogue partner" upon the Kingdom of Bahrain.
