17 companies compete for contract to assist special needs students in Bahrain

Seventeen companies are vying to grab a contract offered by the Ministry of Education to assist special needs students with medical care in government schools.

The contract also calls for providing cleaning and correspondence services for the buildings owned by the Education Ministry.

As per the tender, the contract is scheduled to start on the 1st of September 2023, and ends on the 31st of December 2027. The Tender Board has accepted 15 bids, one with a condition, and suspended another.

The bids range between BHD 151,976.000 and BHD 5,464,756.000. Bidding companies include Alaali Contracting, Home Health Care centre, Cleanco, Logestice Cleaning Contracts Co, Buwardo Cleaning Services, Almashrabiah Construction.

G4S General Cleaning and Maintenance services, Security Solutions, basma marble and granite, Durrat Al Muharraq Cleaning & Maintenance, uniskills, Weston Cleaning, Mexico Cleaning & Maintenance Services, Integrated Facility Management, Alomran General Services, Abdulaziz Alsayed Trading and GCS.

MOE has integrated the people with disability and special needs in public schools by giving special focus on preparing the appropriate environment in term of awareness, facilities and special training in dealing and interacting with disabled people. 

The Schools accept special needs cases without discrimination and integrate them with other students. There are around 175 schools that have implemented the special education programme in different levels of education set by the Ministry.
