The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture’s effort to control the menace of stray dogs in the Kingdom has caught the attention of two companies.
According to Tenderboard’s website, Dyna Contracting and Black Gold Equipment Hiring have both submitted their bids for the contract.
Dyna Contracting has quoted BHD 149,600.000 and Black Gold Equipment Hiring BHD 248,600.000 for the job, and both bids have been accepted. In response to the complaints received from citizens, the ministry has offered a 30-month contract to hunt and catch stray dogs from all regions of Bahrain.
The successful contractor will be responsible for capturing and transferring the dogs to a designated veterinary clinic under the Undersecretariat of Animal Wealth. From there, the dogs will be relocated to non-residential areas, as directed by the Undersecretariat.
This initiative by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture is a positive step towards controlling the stray dog population in the Kingdom and addressing the concerns of its citizens.
