The Turkish city of Elbistan in Kahramanmaraş province has launched an avenue under the name of “King of Bahrain Avenue”.

On the occasion, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, extended his deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the well-deserved appreciation by the sisterly Republic of Türkiye, as a tribute to the royal efforts and directives to deliver relief aid to those affected by the devastating earthquake that had struck the country, based on the distinguished fraternal Bahraini-Turkish relations.

He appreciated the great support that the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) receives from the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressing that the RHF is honoured to implement the royal directives.

RHF Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, extended his sincere congratulations to HM the King for this appreciation from the brothers in Turkey, in recognition of HM’s tremendous humanitarian efforts to serve the brothers and the afflicted in various circumstances.

He valued highly the support of the government, led by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as HH Shaikh Nasser’s interest and leadership of the RHF’s work.

Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed stated that the “King of Bahrain Street” is located in a strategic location in Al Bustan City, which was subjected to violent tremors as a result of the huge devastating earthquake. Therefore, HM the King’s directives were issued to extend a helping hand to those affected, relieve their pain and heal their wounds, and to perpetuate this.

He indicated that the avenue was named after the King of Bahrain to commemorate the great humanitarian stances of HM the King towards the brothers in Türkiye.

Dr. Al-Sayed said that following HM the King’s directives to the RHF, led by HH Shaikh Nasser, to deliver urgent relief aid to those affected by the quake in Türkiye, and following the support of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the RHF has implemented many initiatives to support the quake victims.

The initiatives include paying field visits to the affected areas to meet those affected and identify their needs, dispatching four shipments of relief aid containing medicines, medical supplies, tents and food, in addition to sending a Search and Rescue Taskforce from the Royal Guard to evacuate and save the wounded, he said.

He added that an agreement was signed with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and similar agreements with the Turkish Red Crescent and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEiK) to provide support to those affected by the earthquake and establish some relief educational and health projects in the areas affected by the earthquake.
