Theft cases see 5 per cent drop

Security authorities announced recently that theft crimes in the country saw a slight drop, as per the latest statistics.

According to Budaiya Police Station Acting Head Major Yousif Al Nuaimi, theft cases decreased by five per cent in 2014, compared to the year before.

The major confirmed that the rates of such cases were gradually declining. Speaking about the cases registered at Budaiya Police Station, Major Al Nuaimi said the station received many cases on a daily basis and referred several cases related to electronic crimes, illegal narcotics use and traffic accidents to the departments concerned in the ministry.

“The majority of cases we receive are related to theft, assault, vandalism and property damage. At Budaiya Police Station, officers, staff, patrols and crime scene investigation crews are ready round-the-clock to maintain law and order and initiate legal procedures,” Al Nuaimi stated.
