BOC 2015 executive plan and budget approved

The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has approved the executive plan for its strategy, it was announced on Wednesday following the annual general assembly held at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Manama.
Attended by representatives of 27 of the 28 sports associations and the BOC, including committee board member Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa and general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, the general assembly approved its budget for 2015 and other programmes.
BOC Strategic Planning director Hassan Abdullatif presented a set of plans, which the committee plans to have later this year. They include ‘Own The Podium’ programme, with the aim of achieving sustainable podium performances at various sporting events.
He also presented the Long-Term Athlete Development, which describes the things athletes need to be doing at specific ages and stages.
Other activities include developing human resources performance indicator, Bahrain International Sports Exhibition, preparing instructors in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada, celebrating the International Olympic Day, the second School Mini Olympics, supporting international participation, establishing a sports medicine laboratory and spreading health awareness.
