Twelve distressed Filipino nationals, including four minors, were repatriated back to the Philippines on March 30 via Gulf Air.
They were assisted by personnel from the Philippine Embassy. For the first quarter of 2023, a total of 26 Filipinos have already been repatriated by the Embassy through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The Embassy arranged all the documents and clearances of the repatriates and shouldered the costs of their airfare, immigration penalties, and other repatriation expenses.
The Embassy’s Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office also coordinated with the relevant Philippine government agencies to ensure airport assistance to the repatriates upon their arrival in Manila.
