The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has warned citizens and residents against dealing with illegal brokers and agencies that do not have the necessary licenses as per the LMRA rules and regulations.

The authority noted that dealing with such agencies will have serious legal repercussions as well as social and health impacts. The LMRA added that it pays special attention to agencies that provide manpower for domestic jobs, a service that is closely associated with households and families.

It affirms that it has put in place safeguards to protect the rights and well-being of all parties. The authority noted that unlicensed agencies deal with irregular and illegal workers who violate the terms of their work permits. It called on employers to file an “absence from work report” by visiting any of the LMRA branches as per the set regulations, to avoid any legal accountability, adding that employers may authorize accredited recruitment agencies to file the report on their behalf.

LMRA affirmed that it publishes and updates the names of recruitment offices and accredited domestic labour recruitment agencies every week, where all customers can view them through the LMRA’s website, www.lmra.gov.bh, or by calling the LMRA call center at 17506055.

It also called on citizens and residents to raise their complaints, via email on Complaints. Section@lmra.gov.bh, the government's online application for complaints and suggestions (Tawasul), or by visiting the complaints department at the LMRA.
