Over 5,228 examinations at SMC Radiology Department

More than 5,228 examinations have been performed Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Department of Radiology in January as part of a plan to reduce the waiting lists, said Government Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari.
Dr Al Ansari cited in this regard 1262 MRI examinations, 5790CT scans, 2632 ultrasound examinations (sonar) and 277 breast imaging examinations performed by the department of radiology.
He praised the efforts of all health staff in the radiology department who contributed through their dedicated and hard work to serving a larger number of patients and reducing the waiting lists.
Appointments are being rescheduled according to the established procedure, urging patients to adhere to the appointments set for them to ensure that they obtain health services in a timely manner and that their treatment plans are not affected.
“A plan to reduce waiting lists for appointments for the radiology department was launched in October 2021, as part of an integrated strategy to reduce waiting lists at government hospitals through all their health institutions,” he said.
