Bahrain declares firm position towards Palestinian cause

Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam the head of the Parliamentary Division delegation participated in the emergency meeting of the Conference of the Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to discuss developments in the situation of the Palestinian cause.

The meeting discussed the blatant attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the attacks and violations against the Palestinians.

Al Musallam affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, always declares its firm position towards the Palestinian cause, and renews its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to establish their independent state, in accordance with the two-state solution, the principles of international law, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Speaker expressed strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli police forces storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, and attacking worshipers, as a provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world, and a violation of the rules of international law.

He reiterated the firm position of the Kingdom which calls for providing protection for Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy places in Jerusalem.

Al Musallam called for more international Islamic parliamentary efforts, to adopt international positions to stop the attacks and violations, and to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers.

He pointed out to the importance of the international parliamentary community adopting the lofty royal call, which was launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in his speech during the opening of the meetings of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union at its 146th session in Manama, to endorse an international agreement to criminalize religious, sectarian and racist hate speech in all its forms, provided that the agreement includes the prevention of abuse media and digital freedoms and platforms, in contempt of religions or incitement to fanaticism, extremism and terrorism.

The Speaker said that the Palestinian cause comes within the priorities of the foreign policy of Bahrain, and its continuous emphasis on the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, adhering to peace as a strategic option within the Arab Peace Initiative, and keenness to provide protection for Palestinian people, and the importance of establishing the international community, in its necessary and effective role.

He praised the stance of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in supporting the Palestinian cause and advocating its legitimate right.

Al Musallam hailed Jordanian great support for the Palestinian people, appreciating the efforts of Morocco in preserving the ancient historical identity of the city of Jerusalem, and all countries and peoples supporting the Palestinian cause.
