Bahrain and UK to boost cooperation

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stressed the importance of strengthening the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UK’s bilateral relations and expanding cooperation to serve mutual interests.

In particular, he noted the positive impact of historic ties on the financial and economic sectors, which bolstered joint partnerships.

The minister made the remarks as he met Baroness Joanna Penn, Treasury Lords Minister in the UK Government, in the presence of Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Fawaz bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Salman commended the longstanding relations binding the two countries. The meeting was also attended by Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Economic Development Board (EDB) Chief Executive Officer Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan and Prime Minister’s Office Director-General Hamad Yacoub Al Mahameed.

The Finance Minister highlighted steadily-growing bilateral relations across all fields, and stressed both countries’ shared keenness on reinforcing joint economic and investment partnership to further promising opportunities.
