National Space Science Agency (NSSA) CEO Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Al Asiri stressed the importance of cooperation with the 85 stakeholders in designing its strategy.
Dr Al Asiri said the NSSA and stakeholders will continue to focus on supporting the development of skills of Bahrainis in the space sector, develop scientific research programs, provide space data and analytical studies, and build regional and international partnerships to enhance the national space sector’s sustainability.
The strategy enables NSSA to make contributions to sustainable development and economic growth, he added. Dr Al Asiri was speaking as the NSSA held a series of consultative meetings with national stakeholders, in preparation for its 2024-2028 strategy.
NSSA Strategic Planning Chief Rasha Al Amad noted that the upcoming strategic plan builds on achievements made over the previous years and the results of information and data analysis.
She explained that the second draft of the strategy, which is expected to be completed by the second quarter of this years, will include feedback from stakeholders and resources required for projects and programmes.
Al Amad said that the strategy will be approved before the end of year following final review. The strategic plan focuses on objectives, initiatives, programs, and performance indicators, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Action Plan.
The 2024-2028 strategic plan is also aligned with the space policy, NSSA’s establishment decree, the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), competitor analysis, and previous evaluation reports, SWOT analysis and PESTLE analysis.
