The British community in Bahrain, under the direction of the UK Embassy, prepared a number of events for King Charles III’s Coronation ceremony, which will take place on May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London.

The coronation will include many of the ceremonies that were seen in the late Queen’s service, such as the oath, anointing, homage and enthronement.

Charles will also have the crown of St Edward placed on his head, officially crowning him as King Charles III.

HE Roderick Drummond, the British Ambassador to Bahrain, shared his views on the coronation day festivities in the Kingdom in an exclusive interview with The Daily Tribune.

The weekend will feature volunteer charity initiatives, a musical performance, and official events including business forums and society meet-ups that are planned for everyone who lives in Bahrain.

“Religious leaders from the Hindu, Islamic, and other faiths will attend this event, which will reflect the diversity of Britain,” Ambassador Drummond said. He emphasised Bahrain’s bilateral ties and the outcomes of a recent meeting with Finance and Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in London.

“The meeting included topics that would be beneficial to both countries in the near future, including partnerships in the finance, health, and education sectors,” Ambassador Drummond said. Following the meetings, new modifications to Bahraini nationals’ visa requirements were put into place, and beginning in February of next year, an electronic visa service will be available.
