Eid Al Adha could fall on June 28 with the Day of Arafat expected to be observed on June 27, according to astronomical calculations.
However, the exact date varies each year as the exact date is determined by the sighting of the new moon. Eid Al Adha is a Muslim festival that marks the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham.
The “Feast of Sacrifice” is the second and the larger of the two main holidays celebrated worldwide in Islam. The holiday falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar.
During the holiday, Muslims gather for communal prayer, give back to the less fortunate, and engage in charity work. Charity work usually occurs in the form of money, food, or clothes for the homeless and less fortunate people.
