Newspapers, media outlets are ‘key partners’ in nation-building

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has affirmed that journalists, media professionals and representatives of Bahraini newspapers and media outlets are important partners in enlightening the public opinion and the Bahraini society.
He added that they highlight the efforts being made by the legislative branch to update national laws and consolidate the values and principles of modern democracy, enjoyed by the kingdom, under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’ Reform Project.
The Shura leader also hailed their keenness to bring to light the successes of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Al Saleh made the statements while patronising yesterday a ceremony hosted by the Shura Council in honour of the representatives of newspapers and media outlets, marking the World Press Freedom Day and the Bahrain Press Day.
He commended journalists and media professionals’ dedication and commitment to professional ethics, stressing that the Bahrain Press Day is an opportunity to express praise and appreciation for all press and media efforts, as well as recall the rich record of the Bahraini press Journalists and media professionals expressed thanks and appreciation to the Shura Council for its keenness to honour journalists and appreciate the contributions of local newspapers.
