Bahrain-Singapore judicial cooperation

The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, acknowledged the importance of cooperation and sharing of expertise between Bahrain and Singapore in settling commercial disputes, which help develop the Kingdom’s judicial system, in line with international best practices.
HRH Prince Salman was speaking as he received yesterday the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore, the Honourable Sundaresh Menon, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness wished Honourable Menon a pleasant stay in the Kingdom.
The Supreme Court Chief Justice thanked His Royal Highness for his warm welcome and noted that stronger cooperation between the two countries helped achieve common aspirations. He wished the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
Commercial arbitration
HRH the Deputy King highlighted the importance of advancing the Kingdom’s judicial system to reinforce the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role in commercial arbitration, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness emphasised the pivotal role of international arbitration institutions in supervising the proper conduct of arbitration proceedings. The Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, also attended the meeting.
