HM King appoints new University of Bahrain president

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday announced the appointment of Dr Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari as the President of the University of Bahrain (UoB). This decision follows the recommendation of the UoB Board of Trustees and approval by the Cabinet.

Concurrently, HM King has also appointed Dr Diana Abdulkareem Al-Jahrami as the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC).

The appointments will take effect immediately upon issuance and will be officially published in the Official Gazette. In addition, Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority.

Dr Juma’s nomination was put forth by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sport (SCYS) and received Cabinet approval.

Among other appointments, His Majesty has designated Shaikha Muneera bint Mohammed Al Khalifa as the Director-General of Customs Clearance and Services, and Isa Abdulrahman Al Sisi Al Buainain as the Director-General of the Southern Area Municipality.
