Bahrain’s 2024 Arab summit a catalyst for joint Arab action, top leaders affirm

The 33rd Arab Summit, set to take place in Bahrain, will serve as a significant boost to collective Arab action, said Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi.
Top officials on Friday has announced Bahrain and Iraq as the host of next two round of Arab League Summit.
“We are pleased to express that we will welcome you all to the Kingdom of Bahrain, for the upcoming Arab summit meetings in 2024,” His Majesty King Hamad said in his address to the league.
HM King was followed by Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, who said Baghdad would host the 2025 summit.
“I extend an invitation to convene the 2025 Arab Summit in Baghdad, which looks forward to embracing our Arab brothers in Mesopotamia,” Al Sudani said.
Hailing the decision, AlAsoomi stressed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s unwavering commitment to foster Arab cooperation and solidarity.
In this regard, the speaker also commended the honourable positions taken by His Majesty in defence of Arab causes.
Al-Asoomi further affirmed that the Bahraini government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, will diligently prepare for the successful organisation of the 2024 Arab Summit.
He stressed that His Majesty the King will spare no effort in supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of Arab mechanisms in addressing the challenges faced by the Arab Nation.
In a separate statement, Information Minister Dr Ramzan bin Abdulla Al-Noaimi, highlighted the decision of Bahrain to host the 2024 summit as a testament to the strong commitment of HM King in supporting joint Arab action.
The minister said the choice showcases the King’s dedication to uniting Arab nations, particularly in the face of challenges spanning various domains, including security and the economy.
Dr Al-Noaimi said the decision also reaffirms the Arab League Council’s confidence in Bahrain’s significant diplomatic role in fostering Arab unity and driving initiatives that advance Arab interests, security, stability, and development.
Furthermore, he underlined the Gulf Cooperation Council countries’ contribution to international efforts in addressing climate change issues by hosting the prominent global event, COP 28, in the UAE.
In another statement, Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, said that HM King Hamad’s participation in Jeddah Summit proves the kingdom’s ongoing support for all efforts exerted by Arab countries to build on the achievements of the Arab action process.
He expressed pride in the Kingdom’s hosting of the 33rd Arab Summit, noting that the 2024 summit will enrich joint Arab action.
He further expressed pride in all-inclusive topics included in HM the King’s address.
