Filipino handicraft items, native delicacies at bazaar

The Philippine Embassy participated in the International Bazaar organised by the Bahrain Children and Mothers Welfare Society and held at the latter’s headquarters.
The bazaar featured stalls of diplomatic missions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, promoting the respective country’s products, including handicrafts, souvenir and cultural items, fashion wear, and food items.
The Philippine booth organised by the Embassy featured various Filipino handicraft items and native delicacies such as ube halaya, maja blanca, pichi-pichi, and biko. Tourism brochures were also distributed to promote several tourism destinations in the Philippines.
Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid Al Khalifa, granddaughter of former Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Children and Mothers Welfare Society, led the opening ceremony of the bazaar, which was also attended by the spouses of the heads of missions in Bahrain.
The International Bazaar is organised by the Bahrain Children and Mothers Welfare Society annually, with the participation of the diplomatic missions in Bahrain. Part of the proceeds of the bazaar is given to recipients identified by the Bahrain Children and Mothers Welfare Society.
