Bahrain is paving the way for the first woman on the moon to be Bahraini.
It comes after the Shura Council endorsed the Artemis Accords, which aims to put a woman on the moon by 2024.
The Artemis Accords, a non-binding multilateral agreement signed by the US and other nations, were introduced by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2020.
Its goals include sending people back to the moon by the year 2025 and creating several programmes to further space research.
The council's endorsement demonstrates Bahrain's dedication to this purpose and its preparedness to contribute to the advancement of space exploration.
Bahrain is also poised to begin major space programmes, and with this choice, the nation will make history by laying the way for the first woman to walk on the moon to be a Bahraini.
