The festival, which started on Saturday, features films from Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait and Egypt. In total, 12 short films created by Arab youth are being screened. Bahraini film “Heaven’s Children,” which relates the story of a couple unable to conceive, won the award for the best film as well as the best director.

“I did not know what to expect, I did not have the expectation that I would win this because there were a lot of competitions. There were so many great movies and a lot of talented filmmakers,” “Heaven’s Children” director Mahdi Rafea said.

Bahraini film “Reflection” won the award for the best  Audio Engineering. “The message of the film is that whatever you give, you will get back. The film also explores how people tend to think negatively about life,” one of the creators of the film “Reflection,” Rashed Al Awadhi, said.
