Bahrain highlights drones, cyber-attacks, organised crime as regional security challenges

Drones, cyber-attacks, and organised crime have been highlighted as the most pressing security challenges facing the region by Bahrain Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa during a visit to the United States.
The minister further stressed the need to enhance Bahrain-US collaboration to address various security threats in the region, promote regional stability, and protect international peace and security.
General Shaikh Rashid made these remarks yesterday during discussions held at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a highly influential research institution in US decision-making circles.
In this regard, the ministry underscored the importance of leveraging modern technology, fostering cooperation, and exchanging expertise and information, acknowledging the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States.
The talks were held in the presence of the Bahraini Ambassador to the United States, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Executive Director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Robert Satlof, and other top-ranking officials.
Earlier yesterday, the minister also engaged in discussions with Dr. Stacey A. Dixon, the US Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, to further strengthen the longstanding ties between the two countries and explore avenues for expanded cooperation.
General Shaikh Rashid reiterated Bahrain's commitment to creating an environment conducive to peaceful coexistence and promoting peace in alignment with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister also noted the importance of exchanging expertise as the foundation for enhancing cooperation and addressing challenges that serve the interests of both friendly nations. The leaders reviewed various strategic topics, security challenges, and the necessary promotion of security cooperation and coordination to tackle them efficiently.
