Filipino Writers attends Nightingales concert

On invitation from the Philippine Embassy, the Filipino Writers’ Circle (FilWrite) attended the Nightingales concert on 9 June.
They were among the 600 attendees at the Bahrain Cultural Hall. The attendees included Philippine Ambassador, Her Excellency Ann Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador, Mr. Yusuf Lori, Director of Information and Follow-up of the Capital Governorate, Mr. Bashar Jassim Al Akbari, the Director of the Bahrain International Book Fair and representative of the Bahrain Culture and Antiquities, and foreign dignitaries from Asia.
The Nightingales is composed of Ms. Katrina Marie Saga and Ms. Bernadette Mamauag, who are former members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers They captivated the audience with their unique singing styles and diverse repertoire of opera arias, Filipino folk songs, and contemporary songs.
The singing duo performance of Nightingales is one of the Philippine Embassy’s lined-up activities for the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence Proclamation, which is being celebrated every 12th of June and coincides with the 45th Anniversary of the establishment of the Philippines and Bahrain Diplomatic Relations.
