Bahrain has been ranked as third safest country in the Arab world and 12th globally in the latest safety index released by Global Finance. Bahrain, according to the ranking that lists 134 countries, outperforms most western countries in the classification.

The ranking takes into consideration three key factors, including war, peace, and terrorism, as measured by the Global Peace Index, personal security based on low crime rates, and risk of natural disasters, including the potential for future pandemics, is also factored in.

Globally, Iceland claims the top spot, followed by the United Arab Emirates and Qatar in second and third place, respectively. Singapore and Finland round out the top five positions. Within the Arab world, the UAE secures the first position, with Qatar in second place. Bahrain follows closely behind in third place, with Kuwait ranking fourth.

Saudi Arabia, which holds the 19th global position, takes fifth place in the Arab region. Other rankings include Oman at 25th, Jordan at 52nd, Egypt at 65th, Tunisia at 93rd, Lebanon at 110th, and Yemen at 126th.

On the other end of the spectrum, the countries with the lowest safety rankings include the Philippines in 134th place, preceded by Colombia at 133rd, Guatemala at 132nd, Nigeria at 131st, Bosnia and Herzegovina at 130th, and Brazil at 129th.
