Labour Fund Tamkeen announced achieving significant milestones in training and employment initiatives, with over 4,000 Bahrainis trained and 4,500 individuals securing jobs since January this year.

The accomplishments were highlighted during Tamkeen’s board review of the first half of the year, showcasing remarkable progress in the areas of training and employment. As of May, Tamkeen had backed 2,500 enterprises spanning various sectors, creating more than 74,000 supported enterprises since its establishment.

Notably, 4.85% of the support has been directed towards foreign-owned companies through enterprise and human capital support programmes. The primary objective was to create high-quality job opportunities for Bahrainis, foster collaborations with local SMEs to enrich the local supply chains, and offer members of the national workforce opportunities in international companies.

Tamkeen said its human capital development programmes have accounted for over 57% of the support for these institutions, resulting in the creation of more than 4,000 jobs for Bahrainis in the local market.

Maha Mofeez, Tamkeen’s Chief Executive, along with Tamkeen’s Chairman, Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, announced these figures while reviewing Tamkeen’s performance in the second quarter of 2023 based on performance indicators and strategic priorities.

Tamkeen also conducted successful programmes in partnership with General Assembly, a leader in technology and software engineering, and cybersecurity courses in collaboration with the SANS Institute.

The General Assembly reported a positive outcome rate of 67.5% for their graduates within the first three months, including employment, career progression, and freelance opportunities. The SANS Institute stated that 66% of their graduates secured employment and career advancement opportunities.
