‘Keen to optimise health services’

Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi underlined the government’s keenness to optimise health and rehabilitation services provided for sickle cell patients. He was speaking in a meeting with the Board of Directors of Bahrain Sickle Cell Anaemia Patient Care Society (BSCAPCS) led by Board Chairman Zakariya Ibrahim Al Kadhim here yesterday. 

Al Hammadi pointed out the government’s growing interest in developing prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation ways for the sickle cell patients.

He also underscored Bahrain’s keenness to support non-government organisations (NGOs) and their voluntary and philanthropic activities to upgrade health and social services. The Minister lauded the role of BSCAPCS in boosting social awareness of the sickle cell disease and support patients.

The BSCAPCS Board Chairman thanked the Information and Parliament Affairs Minister for his interest in promoting cooperation with the society and highlighting its activities via mass media so as to alleviate the sufferings of 6,500 patients.
