The Official Gazette published in its new issue the details of the decision to grant a platinum visa and residence permit in Bahrain, issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to the decision, one of the most prominent features of the "platinum residency" is that the license holder is allowed to leave the Kingdom of Bahrain and return to it, in addition to owning built-up real estate and land in all regions of Bahrain, with the exception of areas that are determined by a decision of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments after the approval of the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council of Ministers, in addition to obtaining an entry and residence permit for the husband or wife, children, and parents.
Article 6 of the decision stipulates the cancellation of the "platinum residency" license in three cases, namely: if the continuation of his residency is harmful to security, public order, or national interests; if it is proven that he obtained the residency permit based on false information or incorrect documents; and if he or she violated any provision of the Aliens (Immigration and Residence) Law.
It added: Accordingly, if the residence permit is cancelled in accordance with the provisions of this article, the residence permit of the dependents (wife or husband, children, and parents) will also be cancelled." According to Article (7), if the residence permit granted in accordance with the provisions of this decision is revoked, the person for whom it has been revoked, his spouse, children, and parents will be given a period of three months from the date he was notified of its revocation to leave the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Visa and Residence Department may extend this period so that he can correct his residence status or liquidate his business and leave the Kingdom of Bahrain. The first article of the decision stipulated that the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affair (NPRA), after the approval of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issue an entry visa.
