Bahrain drop one spot on FIFA World Ranking

Bahrain dropped one position on the latest edition of the FIFA World Ranking, released yesterday by the sport’s governing body. The Kingdom’s senior men’s national team are now 86th in the world with 1,282.05 ranking points.
The nationals are in their second-best ranking position since 2021 when they were in the 90s. Bahrain is also 13th amongst teams in the Asian Football Confederation and fifth amongst GCC sides, behind Saudi Arabia (53rd, 1,421.46 ranking points), Qatar (58th, 1,393.52pts), the UAE (72nd, 1,336.28pts) and Oman (73rd, 1,332.45pts), while ahead only of Kuwait (141st, 1,084.34pts).
Japan are the top team in Asia in 20th with 1,595.96 points, followed by Iran (22nd, 1,556.59pts), Australia (27th, 1,530.45pts) and South Korea (28th, 1,529.3pts).
FIFA World Cup champions Argentina remained atop the world ranking, with the rest of the top 10 featuring France, Brazil, England, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
